Anita Ordia is one of the most powerful and compelling Kathak exponent of India today. She is individualistic contemporary and dynamic who is leaving behind a legacy of believing and living a personal commitment. She is Disciple of Padam Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji and late Pt. Durgalal Ji.
Anita is the founder of Kinkini, an Academy of Performing Arts in Rajasthan, a unique centre for the arts which has performed all over India and all around the world. Ms. Ordia is a performer and creator of many talents.
Her constantly brilliant performance earned for her the Awards, Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy Award, UNESCO Award, Dagar Gharana Award from Maharana Mewar Foundation, Nrityaa Shivali, Nritya Shree and Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India has awarded senior fellowship in sociology of culture.
She has successfully redefined the Guru-Shishya tradition and related it to the modern society. Her concern for people and humanity, have seen her dancing passionately to various social themes either through new panoramic vistas of interpretations of Kathak's traditional repertoire or through new choreography. The uniqueness of different combinations is reflected in her presentation of Kathak. It is an aesthetic experience to watch her in action on the stage.
Anita Ordia is a classical example of a true Kathak, multi-faced, successful, dynamic, and presents a challenge to today's specters. Her life works have made her a role model and peer for millions of girls of the younger generation of today.
